We joined forces with Moose Toys to launch the ‘More Smiles, Less Waste’ pilot program in collaboration with West Welcome Wagon and Big Hug Group. Our mission was to give new life to donated toys while reducing waste.  

In 2022, Federal Environment Minister Sussan Ley stated that nearly 27 million toys are thrown away as waste in Australia and end up in landfill. As we work to creating a world without waste – including human potential, we wanted to empower everyday families and people to contribute to this cause and make a difference with what they already have.  

Under this partnership with Moose Toys, we encouraged people to drop off their new, old, or broken toys at a Melbourne shopping centre to donate. Together with our partners and recycling partner ANZRP, we sorted and either rehomed, repaired, or recycled the toys, preventing them from ending up in landfill and going back to those who need it most.  

3954 toys were collected through this program, weighing just over 715kgs! An incredible 98% of these items were donated to West Welcome Wagon and Big Group Hug.
